First introduced as part of the Autumn-Winter 2009 collection, the Japanese bag has since become MM6’s most emblematic accessory. Its distinctive triangular silhouette is inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding, origami. The buttons at its edges allow for the bag to change form through folding, evoking the Maison’s deconstructionist design codes. Each season, the Japanese bag is reinterpreted in additional sizes and a variety of innovative fabrics, rendering the accessory timeless.
Launched in 1997, MM6 is Maison Margiela's advanced contemporary line that takes a casual approach to luxury. MM6 is designed with an unconventional approach to feminine, casual codes through modern cuts and prints with women’s clothing, footwear and accessories.
